Lithology Comments

Jul 14, 2010 (C Ravnaas) - The pegmatite is hosted by mafic metavolcanics (amphibolite). It is part of the Eastern Beryl Zone, garnet-muscovite-biotite granite with local areas of potassic pegmatite.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 14, 2017 (C Ravnaas) - The ore minerals are ferrowodginite, ferrocolumbite, cassiterite, beryl. The pegmatite contains abundant quartz, K-feldspar, albite, biotite, muscovite; accessory garnet, beryl, fluorapatite, oxides (ferrocolumbite, ferrowodginite, cassiterite).

Jul 14, 2017 (Therese Pettigrew) - This 0.7 to 1.2 m thick, steeply dipping dyke is exposed for 50 m and consists mostly of coarse-grained garnet-muscovite-biotite granite with local areas of potassic pegmatite. It contains local white to sea-green, commonly translucent, euhedral beryl crystals typically between 5 to 8 mm diameter and deep brown, euhedral cassiterite up to 3 by 9 mm (Breaks, 1993).
