Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The occurrence is located close to the western edge of the Killala-Baird batholith, within a series of thin, north-south striking units of mafic metavolcanics and iron formation. Due to the proximity of the batholith, the metamorphic grade is quite high, and amphibolite grade material assemblages are present in the metavolcanics. The iron formation units vary from approximately 6 to 20 m in thickness, and dip nearly verticaly. Mafic intrusives, consisting primarily of gabbro are present in the area. Drill hole #TB66-87 intersected two iron formation units, both approximately 6 to 7 metres in width (intersection width). These units are described as cherty, containing amphibole, biotite and sulphides (5% pyrite, 2% pyrrhotite, minor chalcopyrite).

Mineralization Comments

Nov 07, 2014 (K R Kettles) - The iron formation units returned consistent assays for silver of 0.1 oz/ton (3.429 g/tonne) and copper values ranged from 0.03 to 0.1% Drill hole #TB66-87 intersected two iron formation units, both approximately 6 to 7 metres in width (intersection width). These units are described as cherty, containing amphibole, biotite and sulphides (5% pyrite, 2% pyrrhotite, minor chalcopyrite). 2000 - Grab/Trench samples: 70-80 ppm Cu, 60-80 ppm Zn, Described as pillow basalt, confederation assemblage, v. fine grain, light green weathering

Jul 14, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Sample TB-2000-035 returned 0.39 ppm Au, 1900 ppm Cu, 160 ppm Ni, and 180 ppm Zn from an iron formation. Sample TB-2000-036 returned 400 ppm Cu, and 920 ppm Zn from an iron formation (Assessment report 52M01SE2013).
