1936: The property was first staked by T. Christianson and E. Frederickson who performed surface work. 1938: The ground was optioned by J.E. Hammel who completed 19 drill holes for 610 m. 1952: The property had been re-staked by A. Larson. 1954: The property was held by J. Hurnous who completed 10 trenches and 44 drill holes totalling 1645.78 m. 1964: Unknown individuals drilled 2 DDH totalling 113.7 m. 1980: The property was optioned to Sherrit Gordon Mines Ltd. by E. Gay of Red Lake. Twenty-three trenches were cleaned out, and an extensive sampling program of these trenches was carried out. 1989: Tasu and Black Cliff mapped the geology of the Laird Lake area, conducted an IP survey, and drilled two holes, LL-89-9 & 11, beneath the showing. 2008-2009: Laird Lake Resources conducted prospecting and mechanical stripping programs. 2010: L.K. Herbert carried out prospecting to locate the historical showings on the property; 3 samples were taken from this point by Champlain Resources and completed induced polarization and magnetometer geophysical ground surveys. 2012-2015: Bounty Gold Corp prospected and mechanically stripped the showing. 2017: Premier Gold Mines Ltd. drilled 6 holes totalling 3660.1 m, including 3 holes totalling 1980 m on and near this showing.

Oct 31, 2014 (K R Kettles) - The property is located approximately 1 km south of the Killala-Baird Batholith. It is underlain by a zone of sheared and altered mafic metavolcanics and iron formation. This zone extends along the south shore and of Laird Lake and strikes approximately N70 deg. E. Rocks in the zone dip 80 deg. S. Both the metavolcanics and iron formation are highly sheared. These shear zones are heavily mineralized with pyrite and chalcopyrite. Some shear zones have been reported to contain quartz veins with widths up to 10 cm. In the sheared iron formation, magnetite has been replaced by hematite and limonite. Trenching has exposed the quartz veins and pyrite and chalcopyrite seem to occur along the borders of the vein.

Oct 31, 2014 (K R Kettles) - Horwood (1940) reports that assays from the quartz vein ranged from trace to 3.06 oz/ton (104.912 g/tonne)Au. Assays from the wall rock returned 0.12 oz/ton (4.114 g/tonne)Au across 0.3 m. The 1980 sampling program returned much lower assays, ranging from nil to 0.06 oz/ton ( 2.057 g/tonne)Au, but one sample returned 1.92 oz/ton (65.827 g/tonne)Ag over a 1.5 m section.
Dec 05, 2011 (A McKee) - 2010 Multiple grab samples taken assays ranging from 10.85-75.9 ppm AU
Jul 14, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - DDH 17-LD-002 returned 2.92 g/t Au over 1 m between 39-40 m. DDH 17-LD-006 returned 0.88 g/t Au over 1 m between 85-86 m (Assessment report 20000015350).
Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The mafic metavolcanics have been silicified and carbonatized.
