Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - A quartz feldspar porphyry dike occurs within mafic lava. The dike has a banded appearance due to shearing. Stringers and bulges of quartz in the porphyry are sparsely mineralized with pyrite and chalcopyrite. The veins are up to 3 m wide; and this sheared zone is 6 m wide.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 30, 2020 (K R Kettles) - A silicified sheared zone is 6 m wide, occurs in a quartz-feldspar porphyry dike, and contains stringers and bulges of quartz which are mineralized with gold, pyrite, and chalcopyrite. Low grade gold values were obtained in veins and wallrock in 1946 but good pannings were obtained from grab samples. No assays have been reported.
