Exploration History

1934: West Red Lake Gold Mines did trenching. 1936: Drilled 4 diamond drill holes totalling 188 m. 1958: One diamond drill hole. 1976: Property owned by W. Hermiston. 1987: Shane Resources Ltd. conducted VLF-EM and magnetometer surveys. 1996: Shane Resources carried out prospecting, mapping, sampling, and IP and magnetic surveys. 2012: Goldcorp carried out prospecting, sampling, and mapping. 2013: Goldcorp carried out prospecting, sampling, and mapping.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Mafic lava and felsic pyroclastic rocks strike roughly N. The No. 2 vein cuts these rocks and strikes N 35 degs W, dipping 62 degs NE.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The No. 2 vein strikes 325 and dips 62 degs to the NE. This auriferous zone of quartz veining has been traced 213 m and carries gold for widths up to 45.72 cm. Assays from 1936 are the following: : 0.56 OPT AU/46 CM, 0.26 OPT/38 CM, 0.39/30 CM.


Oct 15, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - The best modern sample was collected by Goldcorp in 2012. Sample A671457 returned 0.121 ppm Au (Assessment report 20000007240).
