Exploration History

1984: Biron Bay Resources conducted ground magnetic and EM surveys. 1987: Biron Bay Resources drilled 1 DDH totalling 374.7 m. 2001: Rubicon Minerals Corp. mucked out and sampled old trenches. 2002: Redstar Gold Corp. carried out prospecting and sampling. 2006: Rubicon carried out soil sampling.

Lithology Comments

Jul 31, 2020 (Samuel Lewis) - This area consists of mafic and felsic metavolcanic rocks and metasedimentary rocks. The geology is bounded to the north by the Hammell Lake Batholith. Drill hole BB-87-01, drilled by Biron Bay Resources, intersected ultramafic, mafic and bedded metasediments comprising of talc, serpentine, chert, and basalts.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 31, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - DDH BB-87-1 returned up to 2.24 ppm Au over 1 foot (0.3 m) from a quartz vein with disseminated sulphides in a sheared mafic volcanic (Assessment report 52M01SE0151). A grab sample collected in 2002 only returned 45 ppb Au (Assessment report 52M01SE2019).
