Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Felsic volcanic rocks and gabbro sills are intruded by a small quartz diorite porphyry stock. Shear zones in the porphyry and felsic volcanic rocks strike roughly E-W. The quartz diorite porphyry hosts quartz veins up to 1.8 m thick (Horwood 1945). Gold has been reported at the volcanic-gabbro contact (Riley, 1975). The geology may be similar to Cole Gold Mines #2 (MDI52MO1SE00216).
