Lithology Comments

Nov 22, 2014 (K R Kettles) - The showing lies in an east-trending carbonate zone up to 400 ft. thick, bordered on the north by quartz porphyry and mafic metavolcanic rocks and on the south by metavolcanics. The carbonate rocks contain east-west striking mineralized zones containing galena and sphalerite.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 22, 2012 (K R Kettles) - A bedding-conformable mineralized zone in chemical sediments(dolomite marble and interlayered chert) carries gold. The carbonate rocks contain east-west striking mineralized zones containing galena and sphalerite, and gold, silver, and pyrite. In 1949 a grab sample of highly mineralized material assayed: 0.13 OPT AU, 19 OPT AG, 8% PB. A chip sample assayed: 0.09 OPT AU, 14 OPT AG, 8% PB OVER 2.44 M.2010 The hole is collared in ankeritic dolostone. This unit isa depth of 190 m Beginning at 190 m, the hole encounters iron formation, similar to the type described in EBL10-027 and -028. The iron formation continues to 288 m, where it is interrupted by a broad mafic dyke. The mafic dyke occurs from 288 to 364 m and contains small enclaves of iron formation, typically 1-2 m wide but in one case up to 5 m wide. At 364 m, the mafic dyke is in faulted contact with ankeritic dolostone, which continues for a further 8 m until the end of hole.NGI10-031 encountered two zones of gold mineralization with more than 1 g/t Au. The first intersection occurs at the end of a broader zone of lower grade gold mineralization that runs 868 ppb over 6 m, from 75.39 to 81.34 m. Only tested for Au assays.

Aug 14, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Two grab samples averaged 4.15% Pb, 2.99% Zn, 9.23 oz/t Ag, and 0.05 oz/t Au. The samples were taken from north-trending veins, up to at least 2 inches thick, of massive to disseminated galena and sphalerite, quartz, and associated disseminated pyrite occurring in marble on the south side of Galena Island. Trenches and drill holes have tested the veins over a strike length of about 1000 feet (Riley, 1972).
