Exploration History

1936: West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. drilled 3 diamond drill holes totalling 127 m. 1958: drilled one diamond drill hole. 1987: Shane Resources Ltd. conducted VLF-EM and magnetometer surveys. 2006: Redstar Gold Corp. carried out sampling. 2008: Halo Resources carried out prospecting, sampling, and mapping. 2013: Goldcorp carried out prospecting, sampling, and mapping.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Mafic lava and felsic pyroclastic rocks strike east-west but contain a foliation striking roughly NW and dipping 75 degs NE. The No. 1 vein strikes N 06 degs W and dips 65 degs E.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - An auriferous quartz vein cuts volcanic rocks and has been traced about 53 m. The No. 1 vein strikes 354 and dips 65 degrees to the East. Assays from 1936 give 2.10 opt Au/ .30 m.


Oct 15, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Sample 422889 taken by Halo Resources in 2008 returned 0.381 ppm Au from a 15 cm quartz vein in basalt shear in an old trench (Assessment report 20000003338).
