Mafic lava flow-unsubdivided 2 Contact Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Jul 31, 2020 (K R Kettles) - This area is underlain by chert-magnetite iron formation and mafic and felsic volcanic rocks. Trenches across the iron formation/mafic flows contact are reported to carry gold and pyrite. This showing is on the same stratigraphic horizon as the KRL 11052a occurrence, and may be similar to the Biron Bay Main Zone.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Trenches across the iron formation/ mafic flow contact are reported to carry gold and pyrite. Two grab samples collected in 1969 assayed: trace Ag and trace Cu, nil Au.

Jul 31, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Sample 387112 collected in 2003 retruend 8870 ppb Au from a quartz vein hosted within foliated felsic metavolcanic near the contact with an iron formation containing garnet, magnetite, chlorite, and chert. Sample 387114 returned 5260 ppb Au from a smoky quartz vein at a contact between felsic metavolcanics and BIF in an old pit exposure (Assessment report 52M01SE2035).
