Exploration History

1936-37: Rowan Red Lake Gold Mines perform trenching, stripping, and sampling. 1981: Golden Chance Partnership formed. EM and magnetic surveys and sampling were carried out. 2003 and 2004, grab samples taken over the entire property by Goldcorp.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - A biotite granodiorite stock has intruded felsic and intermediate pyroclastic rocks. The granodiorite contains many auriferous quartz stringers; most are 10 -30 cm wide, some are 1.5 m wide. Most of the veins are short, lenticular but one is 36 m long.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 29, 2020 (K R Kettles) - Quartz stringers 10 to 30 cm wide, and up to 1.5 m wide, in a granodiorite contain gold and silver. Assays by A. C. Bray, 1937, are the following: .12 opt Au/.96 m, .04 opt Au/.61 m, .23 opt Au/1.52 m, 1.0 opt Au/.25 m, .8 opt Au/.36m, and .04 opt Au/1.37 m. 2003: Multiple grab samples taken in this area, highlight of assays: 20.7 ppm, 105.5 ppm, 429.00 ppm and 176.5 ppm Au (Assessment report 52M01SE2041).
