Exploration History

From 1927 to 1983 various operators have conducted exploration work. Work included trenching, rock sampling, geophysics and geochemical sampling. 2002 Fronteer Development Group Inc conducted a prospecting program.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 20, 2014 (A Wilson) - Diamond drilling has returned values up to 5.46% Zn, 0.91 oz/t Ag, 1.18% Pb and minor Cu and Au over thicknesses of from 5 to 14 feet. Grab samples collected from trenches and diamond drill holes completed in 1929 returned values ranging from 0.44 to 14.0 oz/t Au; up to 0.87 oz/t Au over 1.2 m, and 0.14 to 1.16% Cu. Samples collected by the OGS in 1974 returned nil gold, trace to 0.66 oz/t Ag, 0.03-0.07% Pb. Grab and chip samples collected in 1987 returned values of 1.40 to 30 g/t Au, with a bulk average of 92.7 g/t Au.


Nov 20, 2014 (A McKee) - Channel samples taken across the vein at 1 metre intervals. Samples ranging from 0.02 to 232.9 g/t Au with silver ranging from 0.07 to 33.5 ppm.
