Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - GEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION: The occurrence is underlain by a thin unit of interflow iron formation in a sequence of mafic flows. Rock units strike NE-SW and dip steeply to the NW. The mafic volcanics are generlly massive, but locally are highly sheared. Where highly sheared they are chloritic. A thin quartz porphyry sill or dike which is parallel to the strike of the units has been observed. DEPOSIT DESCRIPTION: A thin unit of interflow iron formation which occurs within altered and sheared mafic metavolcanic rocks is auriferous. The unit was exposed by trenching for 170.8 m along strike.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - MDI1 DATA: GRADE 1946 TRENCH AND DDH: SAMPLE ACROSS 0.92M OF IF ASSAYED 0.10 OPT AU; DDH:0.47/0.3',0.23/1.1',0.06/1.2', GRADE 1946 DDH: 0.03 M OF CORE WITH VG ASSAYED 30 OPT AU A sample taken across 0.92 m of iron formation returned an assay of 0.10 oz/ton (3.429 g/tonne)Au. Visible gold was seen in one piece of drill core, and this section assayed 30.0 oz/ton (1028.55 g/tonne)Au over 0.03 m.

Alteration Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Where sheared, the mafic metavolcanic rocks have been chloritized.
