Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - GEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION: The occurrence is located near the contact between mafic metavolcanics and metasediments. The metavolcanics have been described as massive to coarse grained flows. Foliation in the area strikes east-west and dips subvertically. The metasediments include conglomerates and greywackes, strike NE-SW and dip subvertically. The auriferous quartz vein is located within the metasedimentary unit. DEPOSIT DESCRIPTION: A quartz vein which cuts across a small outcrop of metasediments (?) has been reported to contain good gold values. GEOPHYSICAL DATA: A strong EM conductor with good magnetic correlation exists the northwest of the showing and probably indicates the presence of iron formation.
