Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - GEOLOGICAL DESRIPTION: The occurrence is underlain primarily by metasediments and quartz porphyry. The metasediments consist of a sequence of conglomerate and greywacke beds which strike northeast-southwest, and dip at about 70 deg. to the northwest. The metasediments have been intruded by a large body of quartz porphyry. Smaller quartz porphyry dykes, probably associated with the larger mass are found in the area. Mafic metavolcanics in the form of massive flows and pillowed flows occur south of the sedimentary sequence and also as a small lense within the sequence. DEPOSIT DESCRIPTION: Auriferous quartz veinlets occur in brecciated quartz-porphyry. The best gold values occur where the porphyry is highly brecciated. Pyrite and chalcopyrite also are usually associated with higher gold values. Minor amounts of tourmaline have been observed in the quartz veins.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - MDI1 DATA: GRADE 1963 DDH X-7 AND X-8: SEVERAL 0.60M SECTIONS ASSAYED GREATER THAN 0.03 OPT AU.HIGHEST:0.26 OPT/0.64M, GRADE 1963: 3 M SECTION OF DRILL SLUDGE ASSAYED 0.20 OPT AU, LOCATION DDH X-7 AND X-8: ASSAYS QUOTED FOR BOTH DDH, POINT LOCATED TAKEN IS DDH X-7 Several 0.60 m sections of drill core returned values greater than 0.03 oz/ton (1.029 g/tonne) Au, with the highest assay being 0.26 oz/ton (8.914 g/tonne) Au over .64 m. A 3 m section of drill sludge assayed 0.20 oz/ton (6.857 g/tonne). Auriferous quartz veinlets occur in brecciated quartz-porphyry. The best gold values occur where the porphyry is highly brecciated. Pyrite and chalcopyrite also are usually associated with higher gold values. Minor amounts of tourmaline have been observed in the quartz veins.
Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The highly brecciated quartz porphyry has been silicified. Chlorite, epidote and sericite are locally abundant in the brecciated quartz porphyry.
