Geological Age: Archean

Tectonic Assemblage: Houston And Graves

Geology Comments

08/14/2020 (S Lewis) - This MDI is located at the boundary point between the Houston and Graves assemblage. The Houston assemblage is characterised by metasedimentary rocks consisting of wacke, siltstone, argillites, and conglomerates. The Graves assemblage is characterised by intermediate volcanic rocks consisting of pyroclastics rocks that are intermediate to felsic calc-alkaline and biotite plagioclase-phyric lapilli tuffs. However, mafic volcanics and quartz feldspar porphyries were intersected in diamond drill holes by Noramco Exploration Inc. Diamond drill holes by Noramco Exploration and Pure Gold Resources indicate sericite and carbonate alteration.

Mineralization Comments

08/14/2020 (S Lewis) - Pure Gold Resources identified four areas that may be of economic interest; 1) quartz-diorite intrusion, 2) a conductive stratabound horizon in the mafic flow unit, 3) a fuchsite-chert-wacke-mafic flow sequence, and 4) a sulphide-bearing conglomerate horizon. DDH NMP-87-09 returned 2.7 oz/t Ag and 0.435 ppm Au over 2.13 m at 52.9 m from a quartz vein containing chalcopyrite, pyrite, galena, and magnetite in a biotite hornblende granodiorite.
