Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Conglomerate 1 Pyritiferous Host
Terrigenous-Clastic-Unsubdivided 2 Arkose Adjacent
Vein 3 Quartz Veinlets And Stringers Host

Lithology Comments

Nov 03, 2014 (K Kettles) - The occurrence is underlain by a sequence of conglomerate and arkose beds. They strike approximately ENE and dip 70 to the north. Gold mineralization occurs in quartz veins and sulphide stringers in conglomerate.

Nov 15, 2022 (Therese Pettigrew) - Early Precambrian metaconglomerate and arkose are cut by diorite dykes. The conglomerate encloses stringers of tourmaline and disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite. Infrequent quartz veins are said to be auriferous in places (SMDR 00532).

Mineralization Comments

Nov 03, 2014 (K R Kettles) - Assays averaged 0.10 oz/ton (3.43 g/tonne) over 15.2 m from the main trench with the highest grab sample returning an assay of 0.46 oz/ton (15.77g/tonne) Au. The highest assay obtained from drill core was 0.23 oz/ton (7.89 g/tonne), but the average was considerably lower. Copper assays ranged from 0.26 to 2.98%. 2001: 1860 ppb Au over 1 m, 2670 ppb Au over 1.5 m, 2800 ppb over 1.5 m.

Alteration Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Small zones of carbonatized fuchsite bearing metasediments have been recognized in the vicinity of the occurrence.
