Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The central part of the property is underlain by an eastward thinning wedge of mafic flows and hornblende amphibolite. It is bounded on the north and south by sedimentary sequences. The northern belt of sedimentary rocks is comprised of an interlayered sequence of argillite, mudstone, slate, and chert. They strike N73 degs W and dip 55 degs S. The southern belt of sedimentary rocks is comprised of a sequence of intercalated oxide facies iron formation, greywacke, and mudstone beds. Dykes of quartz porphyryr, feldspar porphyry, diorite, and lamprophyre are common.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - A sheared feldspar porphyr cuts a unit of mafic flows and hornblende amphibolite bounded by two sedimentary sequences composed of argillite, mudstone, slate, and chert and intercalated oxide facies iron formation, greywacke and mudstone.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 24, 2012 (K R Kettles) - Little information exists about the occurrence other than it occurs in sheared feldspar porphyry, mineralized with quartz stringers, pyrite, and gold. A sample taken from a trench assayed: 0.04 OPT AU/1.5 m. GRADE 1946 TRENCH AND GRAB SAMPLES: 0.06/2', 0.08/3', GRADE 1946 DDH #23 AND #31: 0.05 OPT AU/1 FT; 0.04 OPT AU/3.3 FT. 2004: best assays returned: 4.2 g/t over 0.72 m.

Aug 30, 2022 (Q Unknown) - 1946 trench and grab samples: 0.04 opt Au/5', 0.06/2', 0.08/3'. 1946 DDH #23 and #31: 0.05 opt Au/1 ft; 0.04 opt Au/3.3 ft. CR-10-039 @ 1,615 m assaying 8.49 g/t over 1 m. Conquest's 'sulphide shear zone' drilling has returned assays of 17.6 g/t over 0.1 m. Location of this zone is approximate from Conquest's website. In Conquest's press release October 2011, reports hole CR-11-051 intersected 3.95 g/t over 6.34 m, including 17.5 g/t over 1.24m which includes 31.25 g/t over 0.53 m of core at a hole depth of 495 m.
