Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - GEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION: The north part of the property is underlain by the Dome Stock. The southern half of the property is underlain by sedimentary and volcanic rocks. The granodioritic rocks are locally sheard and quartz-tourmaline veins are present in some of the shear zones. Basic dikes of lamprophyre and diabase intrude the granite. The sedimentary rocks include sandstones and conglomerates of variable composition. The volcanic rocks are comprised of mafic flows and intermediate pyroclastic rocks. DEPOSIT DESCRIPTION: Gold mineralization is associated with quartz-tourmaline veins in sheared granodiorite. Pyrite is the most abundant sulphide and sphalerite and pyrrhotite are also present in lesser amounts.
