Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - GEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION: The showing is underlain by mafic metavolcanic massive and pillowed flows. Stratigraphic tops are to the west. Foliation in the area strikes north-northeast and dips either vertically or steeply west. Thin units of chert and iron formation have been observed within the metavolcanics. A large intrusion of intermediate composition outcrops immediately west of the showing. DEPOSIT DESCRIPTION: Gold mineralization occurs in quartz veins in an iron formation unit which contains abundant pyrite.
