Exploration History

1927-32: Red Lake Centre Mines performed surface work and diamond drilling on the land portion of the property. 1960: Lewis Red Lake Mines stakes property. Performs underwater exploration using aqualungs and underwater drilling equipment. 1961: Howey Consolidated Mines options property, performs magnetometer survey and 887.855 m of drilling in 9 holes. 1982: Property controlled by C. Huston , performs EM, magnetometer, and gradiometric surveys. 2011: Sphere Resources acquired the property in 2010, completed and NI-43-101 report on the property, no new information for this occurrence since original discovery. Duncan and Sphere conducted a high resolution direct current resistivity and induced polarization (IP) survey on the southern half of the Dome Property between June 3 and July 7, 2010.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The occurrence is situated on the northwestern portion of the Howey Diorite, close to the eastern edge of the Dome Stock.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Two quartz veins containing visible gold have been observed in trenches. No assays have been recorded, but visible gold has been reported.


Aug 31, 2022 (Q Unknown) - Pre-1932: qtz-tourmaline veins reported to outcrop on K1414. 1961: DDH #1, 3, and 6 intersect vein under water, assays tr.au (vg reported in clippings). 1989: single DDH intersects Labow vein, best assay 465 ppb Au/0.3 m.
