Exploration History

1934-36: Kert-MacDonald Red Lake Gold Mines was incorporated to acquire the property, did prospecting, stripping and trenching, and completed 4 diamond drill holes. 1941: Charter was lost and title to the claim was transferred to Gentles, Kert, and Zacks. 1947: They performed a geological survey. 1979: Dome Exploration Canada Ltd. performed magnetometer and EM surveys.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The property is primarily underlain by highly altered mafic metavolcanic flows. A wide NE-SW striking dike/sill of hornblendite outcrops in the centre of the property.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The mafic metavolcanic flows are generally massive and fine grained. Variolitic flows are also present in the sequence.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - A zone of carbonatized and silicified mafic metavolcanics, mineralized with pyrite and chalcopyrite, reportedly returned gold assays. A sample from a pit is reported to have returned an assay of 4.60 opt Au/1.8 m.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The country rocks have been silicified and carbonatized.
