Exploration History

OWNERSHIP: In 1936, Byshe Red Lake Mines Ltd was incorporated and acquired the northern part of the property. In 1944, the ground was staked by N. Sparks, and in 1945, ownership was transferred to Transterra Mines Ltd. In 1946, ownership was transferred to Durock Red Lake Mines Ltd. The company's name was changed to Duronium Mines Ltd in 1949. In 1950, part of the property was staked by O.H. Sa dena and in 1951, part was staked by D. Olsen EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT: Prior to 1936, drilling was done on the property. A small amound of drilling was done in 1936 and in 1937 prospecting, stripping and trenching were carried out. In 1947, a MAG survey and geological survey were done, and five diamond drill holes were completed. ECONOMIC FEATURES: A grab sample is reported to have returned 0.10 oz/ton (3.428) g/tonne Au. 1972 Dickenson Mines completed an Airborne EM survey near and over a small portion of the claim. 1984 Noranda completed stripping and trenching on the North West portion of claim 1248398, only trace Au values were recorded. 1990 Cheveron Minerals completed a stripping and drilling program was initiated in the spring of 1990. Sixty seven rock samples were coleected during stripping. Four DDH totalling 318 m were drilled (MNDM Assessment file 52N04SW0201) and thirty eight samples were collected from these holes. Only trace amounts of gold were observed samples taken from quatz stringers with 10% mineralization. 2010 Sphere Resources aquired the property and completed a NI-43-101 report on the property, no new information for this occurrence since original discovery. Duncan and Sphere conducted a high resolution direct current resistivity and IP survey on the southern half of the Dome property between july 3 and july7 2010

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The claims are underlain principally by Howey diorite, which contains several small slivers of mafic volcanic rocks. The latter contain a few thin interflow units of iron formation. Small aurifierous quartz veins hosted within the mafic volcanics have been discovered in several places. Gold values are reported to occur in a band of iron formation containing fractures filled with pyrite.
