Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The occurrence is underlain by a sequence comprised mainly of mafic volcanic flows with minor thin interflow iron formation units. The iron formation units are described as 'brecciated lean cherty iron formation with sulphides'. Gold mineralization occurs in the iron formation.

Mafic lava flow-unsubdivided 2 Altered Flows Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The iron formation is described as brecciated, and contains quartz veins. It is a lean cherty iron formation with minor sulphides, and occurs as interflow units.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Gold mineralization occurs in a unit of lean iron formation. The iron formation is described as brecciated, and containing quartz veins. The extent and attitude of the mineralized zone is unknown. Assays of core samples of the iron formation yielded the following results: 0.15 opt Au/1.6m; 0.10 opt Au/1.1 m; 0.06 opt Au/1.2 m; 0.18 opt Au/0.3 m.

Alteration Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - The volcanics in the area are carbonatized and probably silicified. The iron formation has been brecciated, with quartz veins infilling the fractures.
