Exploration History

1922: G. McManus performs surface work. 1936: Performs stripping and sampling, 31 holes drilled (24 ddhs, totalling 2163.67 m). 1937: McManus Red Lake Gold Mines is incorporated to acquire property. 1947: Carry out magnetometer and geological surveys. 1979: Name changed to New McManus Red Lake Gold Mines.

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - A shear zone in the Howey Diorite containing quartz stringers and veins is reported to carry gold. No assay values are given, only that gold is reported to occur in the quartz stringers.
