Exploration and Mining History

1969: Falconbridge Nickel completed an electromagnetic survey. 1981: Minorex Ltd. staked the northern portion of the property. Geological mapping, magnetic and VLF-EM surveys and assaying were completed and series of eight gold bearing quartz vein zones were discovered. 1987: Marilyn Resources Inc. conducted line cutting, IP and VLF-EM and magnetic surveys, and drilled 4 DDH totalling 376.1 m, including 1 DDH totalling 98.17 m on the Iceberg Zone. 1990: Milestone Resources drilled 20 DDH totalling 1639.8 m, including 1 DDH totalling 123.78 m on the Snake Zone and 1 DDH totalling 117.68 m near the Iceberg Zone. 2003: Jilbey Gold Exploration Ltd. completed airborne and magnetic and electromagnetic surveys followed up by ground magnetic, soil and rock sampling and MMI soil geochemistry. 2007: Merrex Gold Inc conducted prospecting, geological mapping, sampling, trenching, soil and channel sampling.

Mineralization Comments

01/27/2012 (A Mckee) - Grab samples collected from the Snake vein in 1981 returned assays up to 0.65 oz/t Au and 1.05 oz/t Ag. Assays from diamond drilling completed in 1990 returned assay up to 0.12 oz/t Au over 1.4 ft. The highest returned assay from trench samples was 2770 ppb Au over 0.5 m.

07/29/2019 (T Pettigrew) - Assays from the 2007 trenching program returned values of 1165-2770 ppb Au from the Snake trench and 1245-2310 ppb Au from the Iceberg trench. The Snake trench is a sulphide-bearing quartz + carbonate vein known to host gold mineralization, located at NAD83 Zone 16 526316 m E, 5686429 m N. This trench, named the Snake, exposes a shear-hosted quartz + carbonate vein located within an amygdular intermediate volcanic flow. The vein strikes approximately 042 degrees, and dips sub-vertical. The vein averages 0.4 m in width, and consistently narrows to the south (-80 cm in width from the north edge of the trench to -15 cm at the south edge of the trench). Sulphide mineralogy within the vein dominantly consists of disseminated euhedral to blebby pyrite. The Iceberg trench is located 135 m to the SW of the Snake trench, at NAD83 Zone 16 526251 m E, 5686305 m N and is a sulphide-bearing quartz vein system known to host gold mineralization. This trench exposes a well developed, shear-hosted quartz vein system within a sheared medium-grained gabbro. The quartz veins generally strike between 040 and 045 degrees. The vein system is locally truncated by northeasterly-trending shears, as well as locally boudinaged and folded. Sulphides within the quartz veins consist of disseminated to blebby pyrite and chalcopyrite (Assessment report 20000002796).
