Exploration History

1937: Derby Gold Syndicate staked claims. Gold mineralization was not discovered. 1958: the Kostynuk brothers staked claims on the north shore of Richardson Lake and discovered an auriferous, arsenopyrite and pyrite-rich, siliceous breccia adjacent to a quartz vein containing visible gold and minor galena and sphalerite on claim KRL 43655. 1959: Dome optioned the claims, completed a ground EM survey and drilled 9 holes totalling 2254’ (687.02 m). The drilling outlined 24096 tons grading 0.31 Au/t over an average width of 7’. Dome dropped the option. 1960: The Kostynuk Brothers drilled 2 holes, totalling 207’ (63.09 m). 1962: The Kostynuk Brothers drilled 3 holes, totalling 318’ (96.9 m). Cochenour Willans Gold Mines Ltd. optioned the property and conducted prospecting, sampling, reconnaissance geological mapping and drilled 4 DDH totalling 2096’ (639 m). 1963: Kostynuk Bros. sunk a shaft on claim KRL 13655 to a dept of 40 feet, with 50 feet of drifting and 35 feet of crosscutting. A Headframe and concrete foundation for a mill were constructed. 1964: Kostynuk Bros. conducted 30 ft of drifting on the 40 ft level and completed 80 feet of drifts and 35 feet of crosscuts. 1 underground DDH totalling 68 ft was drilled. 1965: Kostynuk Bros. conducted about 31 feet of drifting and 10 feet of raising. Drilled 1 underground DDH totalling 125 ft. 1966: Total development footage was 111 feet of drifts, 35 feet of crosscuts and 10 feet of raises. 1973-6: The Kostynuk Brothers staked a large group of claims and optioned them to Cochenour Willans in 1974. Cochenour excavated several trenches, completed ground magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys, and drilled 10 holes totalling 2120’ (642.6 m). In 1975, an additional 11 holes totalling 4072’ (1241.15 m) were drilled. 1981: Noranda commissioned a fixed-wing magnetics and EM survey over the area and completed geological mapping and localized ground magnetic and IP surveys over and to the west of the mine. 1985-88: Golden Maverick Resources Corp optioned claims from the Kostynuk brothers. Commissioned helicopter-borne magnetics, VLF-EM and EM surveys. They also completed linecutting, stripping and trenching, reconnaissance ground magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys, geological mapping and a humus geochemical survey along the north shore of Richardson Lake. 1985-6: Golden Maverick amalgamated with Golden Terrace Resources Corp. Golden Terrace completed 10 DDH totalling 1520’ (463.3 m) adjacent to the shaft. 1987-8: Golden Terrace completed a 51 DDH program totalling 7519.69 at the Discovery Zone. 1996: Property was optioned by Romios Gold Resources Inc. No work was reported. 1999: Claims were optioned by Perry English. 15 grab samples were collected during a property visit. 2000: Tribute Minerals Corp. optioned the property from Perry English. 2001: Tribute commissioned a helicopter-borne geophysical survey. 2002: Continuum Resources Ltd. optioned the property from Tribute Minerals on June 17, 2002. 2003: Tribute Minerals Inc/Continuum Resources Ltd. completed a report on digital drill hole compilation and interpretations of the Discovery zone on the Richardson Lake Property. 3 Golden Terrace drill holes were re-logged and re-sampled in 2003. 2010: Tribute Minerals Corp. changed its name to AurCrest Gold Inc. 2011: AurCrest Gold conducted prospecting, sampling, and thin section petrography. 2014: Aurcrest drilled 3 DDH.

Mineralization Comments

Jan 26, 2012 (A McKee) - 2003: Tribute relogged 3 drill holes previously completed by Golden Terrace. Assays returned drill hole 87-1: 12.3 g/t Au found at 30.11-30.27 m depth. Drill hole 87-2: 7.21 g/t Au at 42.51-43.48 m depth and 13.1 g/t Au at 43.48-44.84 m depth. Drill hole 87-15: 5.52 g/t Au @ 19.93-20.39 m. 17.4 g/t Au @ 21.79-22.25 m. 17.6 g/t Au @ 38.07-38.22 m and 4.56 g/t Au @42.4-42.67 m.

Jul 15, 2014 (Therese Pettigrew) - Furse, 1933: Granular and recrystallized greenstones south of the main granite contact. Two veins have been uncovered in the No. 1 pit on the SE corner of claim KRL 10218 shows two quartz veins averaging about 1’ wide, striking nearly E-W, diverging slightly toward the east, and dip about 60 degrees S. The veins are about 5’ apart in the pit. Wall rock of the north vein is a carbonate chlorite schist with fractures filled with carbonate. There are four irregular quartz stringers in the No. 2 pit, in the centre of claim KRL 10219. The stringers range in width from 2” to 1’ in a band about 5’ wide. They strike E-W and dip about 60 degrees S. The stringers are well pyritized where narrower, but stringers that approach 1’ width are only slightly mineralized. Trinder, 2003 : The Richardson Lake Trend extends for approximately 1 km along the north shore of Richardson Lake and includes several gold occurrences which include from west to east : the KRL 10218 occurrence, the Arseno (Arsenopyrite) zone, the KRL 10219 occurrence and the Discovery zone. These mineralized occurrences appear to be localized by the intersection of northerly trending sturctures with a favourable, predominantly metasedimentary stratigraphic horizon. The Kostynuk Mine is also on the Richardson Lake trend, approximately 20 m east of the AurCrest property boundary. The Shaft Zone of the Mine is described as having a W-SW strike (Furse, 1933). Fieldwork and reassessment of data in 1986 led Golden Terrace to believe the mineralization was north trending and the subsequent drill program successfully tested this concept. It is unclear whether the Shaft Zone is a distinct E-W mineralized structure which intersects the Discovery Zone, or a smaller oblique structure within the northerly-trending Discovery Zone.
