Exploration History

1942: The property was held by William and Ab Murto. Surface work. 1949: The property was held by Consolidated Fulbro Gold Mines Ltd. Trenching, prospecting and 2 shallow drill holes completed.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - Geological description: The occurrence is located near the contact of a quartz porphyry intrusion to the east and massive metavolcanic flows to the west. Observed foliation in both units strikes north-northeast and dips subvertically. A thin unit of chert has been recognized near the occurrence. Stratigraphic tops based on pillow packing are to the west. Deposit description: The gold appears to be contained in a short (1-5 m) quartz vein in the quartz porphyry near the contact between the intrusion and metavolcanics.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (K R Kettles) - A grab sample from the occurrence returned an assay of 0.04 oz/ton (1.371 g/tonne) Au. The gold appears to be contained in a short (1-5 m) quartz vein in the quartz porphyry near the contact between the intrusion and metavolcanics.
