Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: Diamond-drill hole J90-36 is located about 36 km southwest of Pickle Lake. The occurrence is located about 300 m south of Caley Lake and about 750 m west of the south end of Sky Lake. Access to the diamond-drill hole site is by appropriately equipped aircraft from Pickle Lake to Caley Lake or Sky Lake, and then traversing overland. The hole is located at coordinates L06+00 E, 00+50 S on a late 1980s cut line grid.

Exploration History

1971: Union Miniere Explorations and Mining Corporation Limited commissioned airborne magnetometer and electromagnetic surveys over a large part of the Central Uchi greenstone belt, including the area of this occurrence. 1984: Golden Maverick Resources Ltd. commissioned another airborne magnetometer and electromagnetic surveys. This was followed up with geological mapping, and rock and soil geochemistry. 1985: Golden Terrace Resources Corporation performed diamond-drilling to the southwest of the occurrence. 1988: Bond Gold Canada Inc. did geological mapping, and ground magnetometer and electromagnetic surveys over their Jewett Lake Joint Venture property. The gold occurrence was discovered at this time. 1988 and 1990: Bond Gold Canada Inc. completed 9 diamond-drill holes on the property. 1996: Moss Resources - 8 DDH totalling 808.3 m. 2009: Tri Origin Exploration completed an AEM survey. 2010: Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. staked an addition 5 claims (76 units) and completed a mineral soil/humus and a small mapping and rock geochemistrysurveys over sections of the claim group with anomalous VTEM data from the Aeroquest survey flown in 2009. 2011: Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. completed cutting of a 39.3 line kilometer grid, staked additional contiguous claims to the east and optioned two claims from Manicouagan Minerals Inc completing a soil/humus survey over them. Over the cut grid 15.8 km of detailed Induced Polarization and 39.3 km of Total Field Magnetics were completed. 2012: Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. completed a mineral soil and humus sample survey on portions of the property. A total of 346 humus and 433 mineral samples were collected plus a 7 hole diamond drill program totaling 1180 m. 2015: Tri completed outcrop mapping, an IP survey and completed an additional (73 soil, 127 humus) geochemical survey.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (B Nelson) - Diamond-drill hole number J90-36 was drilled to test the mineral potential of a magnetic high and coincident electromagnetic anomaly. The drill hole intersected a succession of metasedimentary mudstone, magnetic ironstone, and cherty pelitic sediments. The intersection, from 69.14 m to 62.94 m down the hole, is in a unit of magnetic ironstone. The ironstone is banded chert and magnetite with chlorite and a yellow carbonate (possibly ankerite) and 4-5 percent disseminated and wispy pyrite.
