Point Location Description: Trenches and diamond-drill holes.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: This occurrence is located about 31 km southwest of Pickle Lake and 300 m southwest of the creek mouth at the west end of Bancroft Lake (aka Ben Lake) on the north side of the creek. Access to this occurrence is by appropriately equipped aircraft to Bancroft Lake and then a traverse to the occurrence area. Bancroft Lake is very shallow with a soft bottom and is not recommended for landing in with a large aircraft.

Exploration History

1959: Hasaga Gold Mines Ltd. optioned a claim block covering this occurrence from B. Ohman and K. Koval. Hasaga performed prospecting, geological mapping, trenching and diamond-drilling on the optioned claim block. 1963: Pickle Crow Gold Mines Ltd. sampled 5 trenches on this occurrence and reported significant gold values. 1982: 493217 Ontario Ltd. did ground mag and EM surveys which covered this occurrence. 1983-84: Moss Resources Ltd. conducted geological mapping, mag, EM, IP, rock and soil geochemistry surveys which covered this occurrence. This included trenching and sampling and was followed up by a 20 hole, 1522.78 m, diamond-drill program. 1986: Power Explorations Inc. completed a 16 hole, 1430.43 m, diamond-drilling program on a claim block including 2 DDH totalling 203.25 m on this occurrence. 2010: Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. carried out mapping and sampling.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (B Nelson) - This occurrence is exposed in a series of trenches over an east-trending strike length of about 730 m. The strike length has been extended by diamond-drilling to over 1300 m. Gold mineralization occurs at the contacts of a partially sulphidized iron formation and in the surrounding siliceous metasediments. The sulphides associated with this occurrence are pyrrhotite, pyrite, chalcopyrite and arsenopyrite.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (B Nelson) - The best assay from the surface expression of this occurrence was 0.10 oz/ton Ay over 60 cm. Diamond-drill holes on this occurrence have returned intersections of: BL-84-10: From 34.23 m to 35.08 m ( 0.85 m total), 0.04 oz/ton Au. BL-84-11: From 31.61 m to 32.70 m (1.09 m total), 0.08 oz/ton Au.

May 29, 2020 (Therese Pettigrew) - Gold mineralization occurs in and at the contacts of the main northern band of iron formation. The zone is intermittently exposed between lines 6+00W and 20+00E. The zone has been trenched where exposed and in 4 of 6 trenches sampled, gold values up to 0.035 oz/ton (1.20 g/t Au) were returned. All trenches exposed the contact zone of the iron formation and all values obtained were either in the contact zone with sediments to the north or mafic metavolcanics to the south. A narrow band of iron formation located between zones 1 and 2 and bounded by lines 18+00E and 20+00E is exposed in a series of trenches. A value of 0.10 oz/ton gold over 2 feet (3.43 g/t Au over 0.61 m) was obtained in the easternmost trench from a sample of iron formation near its contact with a quartz feldspar porphyry sill. Abundant pyrite was present in the iron formation (Assessment report 52O07SE0012). DDH BL-86-9 was designed to test Zone 2. The targeted iron formation did not yield significant assays, but a quartz-carbonate-tourmaline vein yielded 0.024 oz/t Au over 1 foot (0.82 g/t Au over 0.3 m), and an interval of diorite yielded 0.012 oz/t Au over 3.8 feet (0.41 g/t Au over 1.15 m) (Assessment report 52O07SE0009).

Alteration Comments
