Point Location Description: Diamond-drill hole J-87-5 located 135m west of western shore of Jewett Lake (AF 52O/07SW-0023).

Location Method: Data Compilation

Access Description: This occurrence is located about 51 km southwest of Pickle Lake and 135 m west of Jewett Lake. Access to this occurrence is by appropriately equipped aircraft to Jewett Lake and then a traverse overland south to the drill hole site. The winter road to the Golden Patricia mine passes about 150 m south of the drill hole site.

Exploration History

1973: Umex Corporation Ltd. did 1 diamond-drill hole on or near this occurrence as part of a follow-up program to a regional airborne geophysical survey. 1986: St. Joe Canada Inc. commissioned airborne mag and EM surveys over an area including this occurrence. 1986: St. Joe Canada Inc. drilled 2 diamond-drill holes on anomaly JN14. Drill hole J-87-5 intersected 3 narrow intervals of occurrence grade gold mineralization. 1990: Bond Gold Canada Inc. drilled 2 additional holes on anomaly JN14 and completed geological mapping on their Jewett Lake claim block.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (B Nelson) - The drill log for J-87-5 indicates the three occurrence grade gold intersections were cut in mafic metavolcanic flows interlayered with thin horizons of iron formation. The intersections are associated with low concentrations of pyrite and pyrrhotite and, in the case of the highest grade interval, quartz veining. Biotite, chlorite and carbonate are mentioned as alteration minerals.
