Dec 21, 2006 (Mark Puumala) - The Lakeshore Vein is described by Winter (1987) as a complex quartz vein-shear system in mafic metavolcanics. A more detailed description of the vein morphology is provided by Pye (1976), who also indicates that the vein is mineralized with chlorite, carbonate, tourmaline, pyrite and pyrrhotite. Significant gold assays were reported from a number of surface channel samples collected from the vein over an approximately 120 m strike length (Winter 1987). Notable results included 0.485 oz/ton over 2.13 m and 2.672 oz/ton over 0.3 m.
