Feb 08, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - Monpre Mining Company reported anomalous gold mineralization at this location following a geophysical surveying and ground prospecting program carried out in1960 (Grady 1960). The occurrence is reported to be located in a northeast-striking shear zone that is mineralized with massive and disseminated pyrite. Lithologies that were noted in the area by Grady (1960) include andesite, greywacke, quartzite and amphibolite. An assay of 0.02 oz/ton Au is reported to have been obtained from a 1.5 m drill intersection at this location (Thunder Bay RGP mineral deposit file).
