Mineralization Comments

Dec 28, 2006 (Mark Puumala) - The geology in the vicinity of this occurrence is reported by North (1986) to be dominated by felsic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks that include tuff, agglomerate and pyroclastic flows. Stratigraphy in the area generally strikes 030, with steep northwesterly dip. This occurrence is described by North (1986) as consisting of numerous quartz-carbonate veins and stringers in intermediate metavolcanics that are sometimes mineralized with tourmaline and sulphides. Anomalous gold values were generally reported from veinlets containing disseminated sulphides, including pyrite and chalcopyrite. No appreciable wall rock alteration was noted in this zone. Notable assays from this zone include 0.24 oz/ton over 1.2 m reported from in Kaw Crow Patricia's 1936 ddh KC-6 (AFRI# 52O08NE0072) and 0.04 oz/ton over 0.46 m from Marietta Resource Corporation ddh MA-P-86-19 (North 1986).
