Feb 07, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is based on two anomalous gold assays reported in Dome Exploration ddh 172-142 (AFRO# 52O08NE0054). The anomalous gold values occur in two sections of iron formation that are separated by approximately 17 m of material logged as albite porphyry and rhyolite tuff. These lithologies are underlain to the northwest by material logged as intermediate to mafic metavolcanics and amphibolite. The gold mineralization is reported in material logged as sulphidized iron formation with the upper intersection containing 15% pyrite, and the lower section containing 3% pyrrhotite and trace pyrite and chalcopyrite. The most notable reported assay was 4.8 g/t Au over 1.05 m.
