Mineralization Comments

Feb 25, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - North (1984) reports that this showing occurs within a unit of sheared and altered banded iron formation that is hosted within mafic metavolcanics. The mineralized iron formation unit strikes approximately northwest-southeast, and is intruded by a narrow quartz porphyry intrusion that is sub-parallel to stratigraphy. The mineralized horizon is sulphidized, contains chloritic schist, and is reported by North (1984) to have assayed up to 0.465 oz/ton Au over 0.25 m. Pye (1976) reports that assay values of up to 0.40 oz/ton Au over 30 cm were obtained from surface samples collected from this showing in 1945 by Central Patricia Gold Mines. 2012 (newcastle): 4 grab samples gave over 1 g/t Au, with a high of 4.7 g/t Au. Stripping and channel sampling gave assays of Au ranging up to 7.14 g/t. The most successful channels were those which cut across the porphyry dyke.
