Mineralization Comments

Dec 29, 2006 (Mark Puumala) - Pye (1976) indicates that the Walker Patricia property is underlain largely by mafic metavolcanics that contain narrow, discontinuous iron formation horizons. Stratigraphy strikes approximately northeast on the western portion of the property, but gradually changes to approximately east-west toward the eastern end (Pye 1976). Assay results of 0.15 oz/ton over 6.1 m (in iron formation) were reported from a single drill hole advanced on this property in 1937 by Walker Patricia Gold Mines (Thomson 1939). However, Thomson (1946) reported that follow-up drilling by Waltricia Gold Mines at the same location did not reproduce this favourable assay result. Drilling in close proximity to this location in 1985 by Cindy Mae Resources (Tilsley 1985) is reported to have encountered gold values > 0.5 g/t in samples collected from two diamond drill holes (CM-2-85 and CM-3-85). The anomalous gold values occurred in material logged as brecciated oxide facies iron formation containing quartz and sulphides. The sulphide minerals included pyrite (up to 8%), arsenopyrite (up to 5%) and chalcopyrite (trace). The occurrence is on the western portion of the property, where stratigraphy strikes northeast, approximately parallel to the course of the Kawinogans River. The most notable reported assays included 0.83 g/t over 0.3 m in CM-3-85 and 0.63 g/t over 0.3 m in CM-2-85.
