Mineralization Comments

Dec 21, 2006 (Mark Puumala) - Two zones of gold-mineralization have been described by Pye (1976) on the former Cohen-MacArthur Group claims. The showing locations are illustrated on Figure 12 of Thomson (1939). The original (eastern) showing is located on the eastern boundary of Claim Pa.773, approximately 90 m north of the No. 2 post. This occurrence is hosted in mafic metavolcanics and is described by Pye (1976) as consisting of narrow east-west-striking shear zones containing silicified schist. The shears contain quartz veins and stringers that are up to 0.4 m wide. The quartz is white and mineralized with small quantities of carbonate, chlorite, tourmaline, arsenopyrite, pyrite and chalcopyrite. Visible gold was also reported. Thomson (1939) reports an assay of 0.26 oz/ton over 2.16 m in a surface trench, while assays of up to 0.25 oz/ton over 0.4 m were reported from diamond drilling carried out at this location in 1936 (Pye 1976). The second gold showing is located approximately 370 m to the southwest on Claim Pa. 774. The showing is located in mafic metavolcanic rocks, immediately north of a zone of strong silicification and carbonatization. This outcrop of this alteration zone is reported by Pye (1976) to have weathered to a reddish-brown colour due to the presence of iron carbonate minerals. Mineralization is reported by Thomson (1939) to be hosted in a number of shear zones that contain irregular quartz veins and stringers. The quartz veins are reported to contain carbonate, albite, and seams of chlorite and tourmaline, and are mineralized with arsenopyrite and visible gold. Mapping of the two showings by Thomson (1939) indicates that foliation in the area strikes approximately ENE, with steep northerly dip (65 to 80). Pye (1976) reports that diamond drilling of the southwest showing in the 1930s obtained assay results of up to 0.75 oz/ton Au over 1.72 m and 3.59 oz/ton Au over 0.35 m.

May 04, 2023 (Therese Pettigrew) - Drilling by Auteco returned the following significant results: DDH RVDD0079 returned 2.1 m @ 5.4 g/t Au from 178.5 m downhole; DDH RVDD0081 returned 2.3 m @ 4.1 g/t Au from 184.0 m downhole; DDH RVDD0090 returned 5.9 m @ 1.9 g/t Au from 158.0 m downhole; DDH RVDD0094 returned 7.5 m @ 1.4 g/t Au from 44.0 m downhole (Auteco news release, May 4, 2023).
