Mineralization Comments

Sep 27, 2019 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is centred upon a 20 km northwest-trending zone of iron formation located in the vicinity of Brash and Keezhik Lakes (Shlanka 1968). Near Brash Lake and Keeshik Lake, 2 parallel bands are present (Shklanka 1968).

Sep 27, 2019 (Therese Pettigrew) - The iron formations are Algoman oxide facies and lean oxide facies (chert-magnetite, chert-hmatite), as well as minor suphide facies. DDH KL-97-19 encountered iron formation at 46.3-50.3 m and has 40% magnetite and 4% sulphides. DDH KL-24 was the only hole drilled by Noramco in 1987 to encounter anomalous gold in the iron formation, where 0.81 ppm Au over 1.9 m was returned (Assessment report 52P16SW0002). A sample of iron formation collected at NAD83 Zone 16 393366 mE, 5738016 mN returned an assay of 30.13% Fe (Assessment report 20000007086).
