Mineralization Comments

Mar 13, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is based on an anomalous gold assay of 0.03 oz/ton that was reported by Boleantu (1961) from trenches on a porphyry dike. The dike is reported to be approximately 1.8 m wide and hosted in gabbro. The porphyry and adjacent gabbro are reported by Boleantu (1961) to be cross-cut by quartz veins ranging in width from 4cm to 1.8 m. The quartz vein contacts are mineralized with tourmaline needles and minor pyrite and arsenopyrite. A second assay of 0.03 oz/ton Au was reported approximately 100 m south of the trenches from a gossanized, saccharoidal, vuggy quartz vein (Boleantu 1961).
