Access Description: Located 8 km west of Horley Lake & 5.6 km southwest of Nibinamik Lake. Occ. approx. 70 km northwest of Lansdowne House. Accessible by helicopter from Pickle Lake.



Exploration History

1971-1972: Canadian Nickel Company Ltd. drilled 23 DDH totalling 2649 m in the greater area, including 3 DDH totalling 449.9 m at this location.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - The occurrences is situated in Mafic to felsic metavolcanic rocks and metasedimentary and minor units of sulphide-facies iron formation assembalges underlain by synvolcanic plutons and intruded by younger felsic intrusions and larger batholithic complexes. The stull Lake-Wunnummin Lake fault zone strikes northwest and occurs north of ddh. 70% sulphides with 7% sphalerite over 1.5m at contact of andesite and rhyolite, 10% sphalerite stringer in rhyolite with minor to trace sulphides occurring in andesite.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 12, 2019 (C Salo) - 70% sulphides with 7% sphalerite over 1.5 m at contact of andesite and rhyolite, 10% sphalerite stringer in rhyolite with minor to trace sulphides occurring in andesite. No assays were reported (Assessment file 53A10NE0005).
