Mineralization Comments

Mar 07, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - The Shear Zone No. 2 occurrence is described by Sage and Breaks (1982) as a 1.2 m wide zone of disseminated pyrite (5 to 10%) mineralization comprised of a series of 020-striking en-echelon shears. The host rock at this location was described by Sage and Breaks (1982) as massive, medium-grained gabbro. The host rock has been subsequently re-mapped as gabbroic-textured mafic metavolcanic flows (see Jensen 1989 and Talbot 1996a). Sage and Breaks (1982) reported a surface grab sample assay of 0.1 oz/ton Au. A qualitative spectrographic analysis was also reported to have indicated the presence of significant quantities of arsenic.
