Mineralization Comments

Aug 27, 2019 (Mark Puumala) - Newman and Burk (1987) reported a grab sample assay of 1180 ppb Au at this location from a 40 cm wide quartz vein hosted by intercalated felsic tuff and mafic metavolcanics. The vein was reported to have been barren of sulphide mineralization (Assessment report 53B09NW0001). Although the host rocks are reported to be metavolcanic, this occurrence is found within the clastic metasedimentary rock-dominated Eyapamikama metasedimentary assemblage (Thurston, Osmani and Stone 1991).
