Mineralization Comments

Jun 06, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - Bateman (1939) reports the occurrence of gold mineralization associated with arsenopyrite at a location immediately north of Pakeagama Lake. Grab sample assays of up to 0.21 oz/ton Au were reported to have been obtained from this location by C. Wynne. A second occurrence of pyrite and arsenopyrite mineralization is reported by Bateman (1939) on the southwest shore of Pakeagama Lake. The mineralization occurs in three veins that occur within a shear zone in schistose, slaty metasedimentary rock. This occurrence is located in close proximity to the northwest-striking Bearhead Fault Zone.
