Nov 02, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - Ayres (1970) reported the occurrence of a 5 cm wide concordant quartz vein hosted in gneissic mafic metavolcanics at this location. A gneissosity orientation of 300/85 is recorded in this area on ODM Map P.538 (Ayres 1970). This occurrence is also shown on OGS map P.3220 (Stone, Crawford and Halstead, 1993) to be located immediately south of the northwest-striking Bear Head fault zone. Ayres (1970) reported grab sample assay values of 0.72% Zn, 0.1% Bi, 0.04% Mo and 0.01% Be.
