Oct 24, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - Ayres (1974) reports the occurrence of veins of clino-chrysotile asbestos at this location within a serpentinized peridotite phase of the South Trout Lake stock. Asbestos veins were observed in an outcrop area approximately 15 by 30 m wide. The asbestos occurs as several sets of cross-fibre veins that are <1 mm to 5 mm wide. Ayres (1974) indicates that the maximum fibre content in the area of highest vein density is likely not to exceed 2%.
