Lithology Comments

Nov 20, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is described by Ayres (1970) as consisting of disseminated chalcopyrite along concordant shear planes and in narrow carbonate and quartz lenses hosted within an approximately 3.5 m wide unit described as felsic tuff. Some mineralization was also reported to occur in an adjacent gabbro sill. The dominant lithologies mapped in the area of this occurrence by Ayres (1970) included mafic metavolcanics and gabbro. The Setting Net Lake Stock, which hosts the nearby Setting Net Lake molybdenum prospect (MDI53C13SE00066), is located approximately 1.5 km to the west. This occurrence is illustrated by Ayres (1970) to occur on a 305-striking fault/shear, while foliation in the vicinity of the occurrence was measured as 320/70.

Mineralization Comments

Nov 20, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - Grab samples collected from the silicified tuff unit by Ayres (1970) assayed up to 0.13 oz/ton Au and 3.02% Cu, while a sample collected from the gabbro was reported to have assayed 0.2% Cu.
