Mineralization Comments

Jan 12, 2012 (Mark Puumala) - The Severn Setting Net occurrence is described by Woods (1928) as an outcrop of massive galena with some sphalerite. The zone of massive sulphides was indicated to be approximately 75 cm wide and is hosted within sheared felsic metavolcanics. Stringer sulphides were also reported to occur in the sheared rhyolite over a width of approximately 3 m. A second outcrop mineralized with galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite was reported by Woods (1928) to occur approximately 150 m to the south of the main showing. Ayres (1970) mapped the rocks of this area as consisting of felsic metavolcanic tuff. A foliation having an orientation of 335/75 was also recorded by Ayres (1970) in this area. Woods (1928) reported grab sample assays of 44.68% Pb, 6.09% Zn and 13.9 oz/ton Ag from the massive sulphide zone. Ayres (1970) reported grab sample assays of up to 9.70% Zn, 0.5% Pb and 0.08% Cd from a showing in the same area. However, it is not known if these samples were collected from the same location as those of Woods (1928). 2007 Prospecting report completed, no significant assays reported. 2011: No new information
