Mineralization Comments

Oct 31, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is described by Ayres (1972) as a 60 cm wide chalcopyrite-bearing quartz vein hosted in a felsite dike. Other rock types mapped in the vicinity of this occurrence by Ayres (1972) include intermediate metavolcanics and gabbro. Stratigraphy and foliation in this area generally strike north-northwest, with a foliation measurement of approximately 330/80 shown on map P.756. Cruickshank (1988) reports an unsuccessful attempt to locate this occurrence during a 1988 Geotest Corporation exploration program. Ayres (1972) reports grab sample assays of 0.25% Cu, 0.02 oz/ton Au and 0.16 oz/ton Ag from the mineralized vein.
