Exploration History

1913: Reconnaissance scale mapping by J.B. Tyrrell of the Geological Survey of Canada. 1964: Ontario Department of Mines reconnaissance scale mapping by P.P. Hudec. 1969-1980: Inco Limited (INCO) exploration program including, geophysics and drilled 2 DDH totalling 241.4 m. In 1970 DDH#43412-0 (Cl#258482) estimates up to 0.4% Cu/4.4 feet at a depth of 190.6 feet. 1979: Ontario Geological Survey completed more detailed mapping by Thurston.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 16, 2018 (R Tuomi) - In 1970 DDH#43412-0 (Cl#258482) estimates up to 0.4% Cu/4.4 feet at a depth of 190.6 feet. A 1979 Ontario Geological Survey completed more detailed mapping by Thurston. OGS grab sample from a vein on small island off NW corner of Ernie Island: assayed 1.05% Cu. IPCO’s 1985DDH BT-85-2 assayed 1.36 g/t Pt/0.4m (Zone 5.2km SE of CR OCC). Samples collected by OGS staff in 1986 assayed up to 0.36% Cr, 0.17% Cu and 0.17% Ni.
